Lecture Series

Richard C. Jewell Lecture Series is the new name that is now sponsored by Stack’s Bowers Galleries. This renaming is in memory of our Clarion editor, Rich Jewell that has sadly departed us after a long illness. Rich was our Lecture Series chairman and organizer. Stack’s Bowers Galleries has generously granted PAN funding in Rich’s name that will allow us to invite and fund travel and hotel costs for our out of town speakers in the future. PAN and Stack’s are keenly aware of the value of numismatic education.

Our speakers are considered by their peers to be experts in their numismatic field of interest. The lectures are free and open to the public and are followed by a question and answer segment or interactive discussion. They occur on Fridays and Saturdays during the PAN Coin Shows and Conventions each Spring and Fall. The topics are numismatic and range from very basic information about rare coins and collecting to specific specialized areas of interest.

Many of our past guest speakers have included noted numismatic authors, coin designers, US Mint chief engravers, and prominent national dealers in rare coins.
